Posted

UPDATED SEPT. 9

A 23-year-old Bothell man was arrested Monday, Sept. 6, in Snohomish on charges of first-degree burglary and second-degree child molestation.

The suspect and victim are not known to each other. The suspect is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

Special Investigation Unit detectives thank the Bailey Farm management for their assistance and cooperation, which led to a quick identification of the suspect.

This remains an active investigation.

Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives are investigating a child sexual assault in Bothell Friday, Sept. 6.

During this investigation, detectives learned that an unknown male entered a family residence and entered the bedroom of a 11-year-old child, who was woken up by this unknown male and sexually assaulted.

When a second child awoke, the suspect fled the residence. Detectives do not believe the suspect is known to the victim; this appears to be a random incident.

Detectives are seeking the help of anyone living at the Bailey Farm Apartment Complex – at 1225 183rd St, SE, Bothell, just south of Mill Creek and west of Bothell-Everett Highway – that may have video surveillance at their residence between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, to Friday, Sept. 6.

Anyone with information or video surveillance is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 425-388-3845. Anyone with immediate suspect information is asked to call 911.
